Welcome to the SVAP Online Form Submission The Stream Visual Assessment Protocol (SVAP) is a publication of the US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA NRCS). This protocol has been slightly revised to better fit the streams of New Jersey. The RCRE Water Resources Program is using the revised USDA SVAP to characterize streams throughout New Jersey. This characterization of NJ waterways aims to identify areas of failing streambanks, modified channel conditions, and degrading stream conditions, as well as identifying areas for preservation, protection, and overall improvements.
