Data Sheets
Two different data sheets will be used for this project:
- Survey Summary Data Sheet ( Survey Data Sheet )
- Endangered and Threatened Species Sighting Report Form ( Sighting Report Form )
Please be sure to completely fill out all data sheets and provide maps of endangered, threatened, and rare species sightings.
Data Recording
- FILL OUT A SEPARATE SURVEY SUMMARY DATA SHEET EACH TIME YOU VISIT A SITE. Each Survey Summary Data Sheet is designed to document the date, duration of site visit, and survey methods that you use at each survey area. Please fill out the Survey Summary Data Sheet in the field each time you visit a survey area. To save yourself time, fill out your contact information at the top and photocopy the form.
- FILL OUT A SEPARATE ENDANGERED AND THREATENED SPECIES SIGHTING REPORT FORM FOR EACH TARGET SPECIES YOU LOCATE. All sightings (visual or auditory) of endangered, threatened, or rare species must be documented on the Endangered and Threatened Species Sighting Report Form.
- INCLUDE A MAP WITH YOUR ENDANGERED AND THREATENED SPECIES SIGHTING REPORT FORM. For each target species identified, please be sure to accurately mark on a map the exact location of each sighting. You may use one map to mark several sightings at the same survey area, but be sure to include a copy of the map with each sighting report form submitted.
- VERIFICATION - Do not collect any individuals. Photographs and recorded vocalizations of rare species are extremely helpful in verification. Please label photo and tapes with the site location, date, and species and send along with your data sheets.
